Covid-19

New Policy – YES a vaccine is now Required.

Exercise physiologist owners Mike Lapolla and Nick Galuardi lead fitness team in Saratoga Springs

We’re taking this pandemic seriously for our members and our community.  Due to the recent and escalating Omicron Variant of Covid-19 we’ve taken the additional step of REQUIRING Vaccines for our members – Luckily we had a 99% vaccination prior to the new rule and with continued due diligence we hope to keep SHW free of any Covid-19 outbreaks (knock on wood!)

We officially re-opened on August 24th, 2020 after a more than 5 month layoff due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.  Unfortunately it’s still with us, and as such we’ve got some new policies in place keep everyone feeling safe.  ALL in the name of getting to the end of this pandemic alive and well.  Please read below to see how these policies can help you regain confidence and feel at ease in our facility.  We realize the apprehension many people may have when returning to the ‘gym’ but ours is different and we intend to stay safe!

Social Distancing

Try to stay 6 feet away from others.

Common sense tells us that if we distance ourselves from one another, we significantly reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19 IF someone else has it.  Be smart!

Wear a Mask

Recommended Indoors but not required due to our Vaccine requirement

New York State and the CDC recommend indor mask wearing but at SHW since we have a vaccine requirement (all members must now be vaccinated), a mask is NOT REQUIRED.  Again, Recommended, not required.

Timing

Is Everything. Avoid Crowds.

Avoiding crowds (rare at SHW anyway) is a great way to minimize your risk of exposure to COVID-19.  Use the charts below (or download facility usage below) to see a when it’s typicially slow or busy so you can plan accordingly.  Again, all in the name of staying safe and feeling comfortable.

Cardio

Equipment spaced generously

You’ll notice that our cardiovascular and aerobic exercise equipment is adequately spaced apart.  The facility is spacious and there’s plenty of room to keep your distance.

Our Strength

Equipment has some rules.

Due to the typically tame crowds at Saratoga Health and Wellness, we’ve chosen NOT to separate our strength training equipment.  Alternatively we are implementing a simple rule of NOT allowing members to access a piece of equipment that is directly next to another member.  Please allow at least 1 piece of strength equipment BETWEEN you and your friend next door.  By respecting each other’s space, everyone wins.

Strength training equipment has some rules - Keep 1 piece of equipment between you and others
